La Jolla Marine Protected Areas

 

Do Your Part to Protect La Jolla’s Beaches!!

As of January 1, 2010, the Marine Protected Area (MPA) network in San Diego and in particular La Jolla has changed!  The reserves have been altered and expanded.  There are also significant new rules.  If you plan to visit La Jolla Beaches, please consider your impact on the environment and respect the MPA rules.  The following beaches (partial list) in La Jolla are subject to MPA regulations:

  • La Jolla Shores
  • Marine Room
  • La Jolla Cove
  • Bird Rock
  • PB Point
  • Tourmaline
